This is one of those days my brain is going NON STOP! I have my grand precious on my mind. Everything he does I want to video and then show you, my family, my friends and complete strangers. I sent a few pics to a relative via text and she responded "thanks for sharing" Thanks for sharing????? Are you kidding me? Who says that when I just text messaged the most adorable pictures ever of the cutest thing I know? Thanks for sharing???? I mean I was steaming for at least a couple of hours over this. I shared this story with a home Bible Study group I happen to love very much called..... you guessed it! GIRLS GIVEN GRACE! We all cracked up for several minutes because some super wise, older women are in our group and they were totally confused why on earth this was any size of a deal with me. They asked me, "what is wrong with that" (seriously??? ???) Are you kidding me? What is WRONG WITH THAT? I let them know that is rude-o. They laughed again ya'll. I mean out-loud, busting out laughter! These women let me know this is all they can do to keep up with our fast and furious world of instant, text messaging. Oh, and they let me know that it probably took this person several minutes to even type out "thanks for sharing" - LOL! I never thought of that. I told these women you have to at least put a smile face or something of appearing like you love what was sent. It's my GRAND PRECIOUS for goodness sakes. I kid you not, these women are going to start adding a smile to their texts. They had no idea and even worried if their own daughter in law or daughters might feel like I do. It was so funny. Who has a conversation of text messaging etiquette? I DO!

Is the website the blog of "happenings" in your GGG Bible Study or is the GGG website the actual bible study meeting place? And....I do want one of those T's! Who do I send money to for it?
ReplyDeleteAlso, loved the post about the text. Texts are hard because you want to show equal enthusiasm but when you absolutely capitalize everything and put one hundred explanation points you feel like a 7th grader! So what is the solution?! :)

GGG is on the blog to grow. We want you to start a GGG - which is a group meeting in homes or workplace (lunch hour) Bible studies. We want to help by providing study suggestions, facilitating ideas, fun t shirts and bags to show off our group and most importantly our Savior. We want to see what every GGG is doing and a blog seemed a perfect place to share. Fun huh! I will mail you a tshirt Monday. We have more CUTE things coming too. The deal is - you have to text a picture rocking it!
DeleteThe text thing has created the most hilarious buzz. A GGG mentioned the "all caps" She jokingly asked, "does this mean I'm yelling" SO FUNNY! I think a text messaging etiquette book is in my cards. Just the acronyms deserve a book of explanations. Not to mention the emoji pics. I'm telling the truth, Andie and I can have an entire conversation with those things and not one spelled out word! I told my sis in law and brother at lunch yesterday about this. My brother stopped and looked at his phone sort of concerned because he didn't respond to his daughter in law that day. My sis in law said she read the blog and was rolling. She said she suddenly stopped laughing and thought "wait! Is this ME she is talking about" SO FUN!
